My review of UCFB

(5)·By Lloyd H·Journalism· Jun 2026
I have had a wonderful time at UCFB throughout my three years. Student life has been great, and I have learned a lot from lectures while gaining valuable opportunities thanks to the university. The accommodation is great and very close to the university buildings. Overall, I have loved my time at UCFB and would definitely recommend it to others!

Sports / Sports Science, Year 2

(5)·By Dimeji W·Sports· Jul 2021
It was good, was a varied amount of things you could get upto and involved in, it's not the biggest uni in the UK but it supplied with options to go and meet new people The accommodation is good and worth it for the price, they help you get settled in and try help the best they can at the best options for you Top of the art facilities especially as it being a sport based university they have many teams and facilities available for you to access They were always engaging and tutors tried to make learning fun the best they could, it packed a lot of information in but it focused on the main parts needed to get your grades Manchester is great, love the city, there's so much to do and see and the nightlife is the best

I had some brilliant work placements

(5)·By ricky h·Biology· Oct 2018
The Complimentary Curriculum offered by UCFB was the best part about being here, as I studied a topic I am passionate about in a Campus that is genuinely part of the industry. I was able to get to know industry professionals and had several work experience opportunities that were incredibly interesting and have given me some great stuff to add to my CV. Another positive of my time there is how they taught us; they also gave us a very personal experience, getting to know and help each of us as individuals.

Sports Science, Year 2

Amazing. it was interesting if I'm honest. Their amazing, I can concentrate in there and I just feel like home. As much as the lectures are long but they are interesting and it's good to get more information. It's different because not everyone is like me but I'm used to it. It's the same as a level or btec but more content so you don't have to worry or stress. I promise you just work hard and you'll be fine

I wouldn't change my degree for the world

(4)·By tara m·Civil Engineering· Oct 2018
The staff were incredibly open to speaking to us and answering our questions, which was really supportive. Both the lecturers and pastoral staff helped with academic and personal issues, which was lovely of them. The Complimentary Curriculum gave me valuable experience in the sports industry, as it gave me the chance to get work placements and meet experts in the field of of Sport and Sport Business. Obviously there were small issues, just because we were the first year of students, but the staff did so much to help us solve them and it was great being a part of the UCFB family.

UCFB Wembley.. my experience

(4)·By Jason T·Other· Oct 2018
At UCFB football really is the business. As a student at university you want opportunities and exposure and at UCFB you get that.

I'm a first year student in Wembley and have had amazing work experience including 8 days in St Georges Park working with The FA and UEFA during a UEFA U17 tournament. I was Sweden U17's team Liason officer and had the most amazing experience.
There are so many chances and opportunities that constantly get sent to us as students whether it's event management work during an event at Wembley to having days out at media stations such as talk sport where I recieved media training (and I'm not a media student but still got the offer)

We have the best networking opportunities with top industry guest speakers. We have a great lectures and support networks in place ensuring the best academics and support.

Being in Wembley where The FA are based you never know who you will bump into and who knows, that person could be taking you on for roles or even interviewing you.
As students we've even played on the Wembley pitch with the full match experience and that was something!

We have good social activities and a supportive student union. My fellow students all appreciate where we are and what we can achieve.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

Dreams becoming a reality.

Having just completed my first year at UCFB Wembley studying football business and marketing, I couldn't be more thankful for the endless opportunities that have been offered in the last eight months. This along with the leading team of academics have made my transition to University life easier then ever imagined.

From a course prospective we have already covered a great deal of topics regarding brand loyalty, consumer behaviour, marketing in sport, football/sport as a business, marketing communications and in addition the required assignments and presentations we have been able to take part in some great workshops to develop that knowledge further.

Additional qualifications and masterclasses available to students are led by world-leading industry professionals and are a great portfolio piece for when we graduate. This along with being able to network with these key personnel gives us a huge opportunity to break into the industry ourselves.

Additional courses I have taken this year include:
Stadium and Events Management Masterclass
Essentials in Public Speaking Masterclass
Marketing Communications Masterclass
The Management Game
Aim Higher Study Skills
All of these add more to everything we are learning degree based and the access to industry professionals I feel is unique to UCFB.

Regarding access to industry professionals I have thoroughly enjoyed our guest speaker series this year. With professionals such as Greg Dyke, Steve McManaman, Gabby Logan and Martin Tyler coming in and giving time to speak about their careers, the challenges they face, how they got to where they are is a great incentive for us to do well and having been able to network with them following these sessions has allowed me to create a fantastic connection database already.

I have also been fortunate to take part in some great internship opportunities that have been offered by UCFB. I am currently researching many different environmental options to put to the board at Wembley Stadiums Green Team (the eco team that look
