Southampton Solent University

I came from London to Southampton and the experience felt unique both in uni and outside of it. I believe this experience is one of the most unique ones I have ever had. I enjoy living, taking care of myself, doing my studies, going out, enjoying myself, and exploring the area. I would recommend it to anyone.

I am really happy with the accommodation, it is not part of the uni halls - it's private halls - and I think this was a good choice. It is close by and a nice accommodation that is good value for money. The course has really interesting modules and extra qualifications. The facilities are outstanding. Multiple gyms, labs and classrooms that are impressive. Great if you are an athlete and want to be part of a sports team, I played basketball and netball and recomend both at this uni. The social life is good, pleanty of clubs, bars and restaurants to choose from. The staff at the uni are really supportive and there are student ambassadors and a great student union. The university hold really helpful events too, including adobe and linked in. The only negative is the safety of the city, but like any city you have to be careful.

I am studying business maritime at Solent and am enjoying it highly. The uni has a nice study atmosphere with a perfect 24hour library to cater for any study needs. The online Solent portal is easily understood and accessible, as well as the Solent online learning.

I wish I could go back, oh my days. The tutors are the friendliest and all have the most varied sense of humour. They strive for us to work hard and be the best we can be, but also make sure we enjoy our days and don't find them boring. Students are okay too, I guess :] 10/10 for everything. They also have amazing hot chocolates in the cafeteria...

Kimber accommodation is okay, noise travels fast so extremely loud at times - especially tuesday/wednesday nights for student nights but apart from that the accom is lush and would always recommend it.

My Sports Journalism course is something i thoroughly enjoy, i'm currently in my second term and i love learning how camera/video crews work infront and behind the scenes.

Overall, i love the univeristy and would recommend it to anyone wanting to go to university

Freshers Week was exciting and in a way, really wholesome. It allowed our course to come together in a non-traditional way, given the circumstances. Solent accommodation is simple, and it is a hub in the centre of Southampton. It has modern spaces where you can socialise and work. Solent University offers fantastic facilities in its well-stacked libraries, work areas and classrooms. Particularly, the media facilities are top class. Courses at Solent are expansive and come with first-class teaching from its lecturers and tutors. City life in Southampton is bustling - from shopping centres, to it's parks and it's leisure facilities. You can find everything at the heart of the city, and everything is in walking distance.

Freshers week was very effective. The University was very informative on how they work in general, the course we are doing and social activities. The accommodation was great for what you paid. A very effective way to get to know people and socialise. All facilities were easily accessible. I particularly found the library's 24/7 opening hours around exam times to be helpful. Although, due to covid they have had to go back to less hours. I have found my course to be very tailored to my future career path, with all provide information being relevant. All the lectures have been interesting and engaging. Solent University is based in the middle of a student heavy city. There are many pubs, bars and clubs where it is easy to meet people with the same interests as each clubs tend to play specific genres of music, with a few clubs being more general as well. So you have the pick!

It was such a great experience and a great opportunity to meet new people The accommodation overall was clean obviously noisy but that's understandable haha students love to party the most important thing is the safety of the buildings which is excellent. The facilities such as the library, classrooms , sports areas and the student union are excellent and available for every student it's a same we can't use them anymore but health and safety is a priority due to covid of course. The course was excellent and the way of monitor the learning always motivated to learn more. My personal experience living in Southampton for the past 2 and a half years is more than great, people are polite always ready to provide help whenever is needed ,make you feel welcome and lots of opportunities to be a part of the community.

Freshers week was quite exciting and fun. Solent university did a great job by introducing interesting and useful thing and places. The atmosphere was really nice and unique. Their accommodations are in a good area close to the university. Specious and new fresh rooms. All of the facilities are really good. The library is really well organized and with plenty of space and computers. The classrooms are modern with a creative and inspirational atmosphere. The course by itself it's one of the most creative ones at Solent. We learn a lot of new things every week and then we practice them. Lectures are well organized and interesting. The student life in Southampton is quite interesting. There are a lot of places suitable for students. You can have the best university years here.

It was very good. We were given a mini project to do meaning we got a glimpse into what the course/assignments entail as well as being taught the basics The accomodation was a nice accommodation to live at, the any issues were fixed and we were given a range of choices as to which we wanted to live in and a range of prices The facilities are excellent, the library has any book you could need as well as a huge amount of computers and macs, the photography and filming facilities are amazing The course is extremely applicable to the real life industry, giving us a good experience and teaching us employability City life is so much fun and offers you everything you want to get from the social side of your uni experience, as well as the up side of everything being in walking distance
