Loving every second of it. My course is so interesting, and the accommodations are amazing. The people are wonderful. I couldn't ask for anything better!

amazing

Student life is generally fun and busy; you’ll meet lots of people and there’s always something going on. The course can be interesting but sometimes intense, depending on your workload and deadlines. Commute and accommodation vary a lot; living close to campus makes a big difference, while longer commutes can get tiring. The social scene is a big plus with clubs, events, and nights out, though it can be expensive. Overall, it’s a great experience, but costs, stress, and balancing everything could definitely be better.

Life in Lancaster university

(5)·By shanth v·Finance· Nov 2025
Lancaster University has been a fantastic place to study, and one thing I’d tell any future student is: use the porters. They’re honestly lifesavers. Whether you’re locked out of your room, dealing with a noise issue, or just confused about where something is, the porters in the colleges are always around and genuinely willing to help. Campus accommodation feels so much safer and easier because of them.

Academically, the support is strong, and the campus community is friendly. Lancaster as a city is on the quiet side, but don’t let that put you off. If you ever get bored, hop on a bus to Morecambe for a seaside walk, or plan a trip to the Lake District, which is stunning and super close.

Overall, Lancaster is a great choice if you want supportive staff, great teaching, and a campus that actually takes care of you.

Amazing and Vibrant

Picking Lancaster University was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not just for my career, but for my social life. Lancaster’s vibrant campus not only gives you a space to relax and feel at home, but is incredibly social.

I am proud to have been a part of the Lancaster university community. Not only is it academically incredible, but also the opportunities available socially are unmatched. I couldn't have asked for a better university experience!

Lancaster Univerisity

(5)·By Emma I·Business· Jun 2023
The campus has a lively, vibrant atmosphere with so much going on, such as markets on a Thursday. The accomodation is super clean and has everything you need. I'm really enjoying my course and feel that there is plenty of help on offer and constant communication with my tutors, so I always know what's going on. There are so many societies to get involved with and lots of opportunities to meet new people with similar interests.

Accounting, Year 3

(5)·By Arissa A·Accounting· Jul 2021
It was fun! There were so many freebies being given out, so many society tryouts to do, and so many themed parties to go too! Lancaster definitely took great care of us during fresher's I live in an en-suite and while it may be small, I personally love it being really quaint and nice to live within. The kitchen is shared and if you get decent flatmates, you're settled for the rest of the year Library's accessible for 24/7 and I like that since I'm personally a night owl! Classrooms are big and well-equipped with decent technology. The student union is pretty helpful too, always being our voices to fight for things that matter the most to us The course has been challenging but it's definitely better to break through such a challenge with the lecturers. They're intelligent, knowledgeable and definitely friendly and helpful enough to help the students. I really like the welcoming vibe of Lancaster's lecturers Lancaster is quite a quaint and small town, but it has everything you need to survive there. The people are friendly and there's a lot of places to eat within the town itself and very accessible from campus

History, Graduate

(5)·By Alan F·History· Jul 2021
Was pretty decent, although lancaster isn't the busiest city, but still a lot of fun Depending on college you go for the accommodation suits all ranges of people and budgets. Townhouses are super sociable and some of the flats are super modern and nice. But there are cheaper options too All really modern and great. Loads of new buildings, especially for management subjects. It's a great course, the variety of modules that you can pick from is better than the majority of other unis so you can choose what interests you It's a quiet city, but can also be so vibrant at the same time. It's a safe and great place to study and go out. Because it's such a university city, although there isn't much choice for nights out, it feels so much more like a community
