I have made tons of friends since coming here. My accommodation is the best I’ve seen, and I love being part of my social group.

Being a distance learning student at Heriot-Watt University, my experience with the course has been flexible and intellectually challenging. The course develops strong problem-solving skills and is very accessible, but it requires self-discipline and offers limited social interaction.

I never stayed for the full duration of my course due to personal obligations; however, the time I had there was amazing. There are opportunities for everyone. There are many social clubs, the lecturers are friendly, and people are very welcoming. I definitely want to go back to university when I get the chance because my experience there was great.

Great spacious accommodation with a very tight-knit campus. There is lots of access to different sports facilities and study areas, all while being right next to the city for a great social life.

The university is very inclusive and makes it easy for you to feel like you’re a part of something. It also helps you find friends, especially in your first year, as it provides activities on campus for all ages.

Heriot-Watt is an amazing school with great facilities on campus. However, I wish the student shops had more options at fair prices, and that the lectures weren’t so packed together, especially as a master's student. Three times a week for lectures is ideal.

My student life is going well so far. Many social and study events have helped me make a lot of friends, and I have never felt alone, even though I am far from my country.

It feels like a self-contained student community, making it easy to settle in and meet people.

Student life is diverse and welcoming. There are many societies, sports clubs, and events that help students get involved beyond academics. The university also has a strong international presence, creating a culturally rich and inclusive environment.

Overall, Heriot-Watt University offers a high-quality education, supportive staff, excellent facilities, and a vibrant student community. I would highly recommend it to students looking for a university that combines academic excellence with a friendly and engaging campus experience.

As an international student, it’s always a tough choice choosing a university for your studies, as it depends not only on academics but also on the student community, wellbeing, and the environment of the university. I’m so glad I chose to study with Heriot-Watt, as it offers amazing graduate career opportunities for my degree and has a great staff and student community that helps you navigate university life. It is well connected to the city centre of Edinburgh, and even while I was living in halls, getting to and from the city after a food shop or a night out was a breeze. I love that everyone makes you feel welcome and included here.

Accommodation is pricey, but the course quality is excellent with knowledgeable professors.
