Edge Hill University

Student life is amazing, always meeting new people anywhere in the university. Edge Hill is very welcoming and supportive, especially for mental health and course support. They also provide lots of activities every week, for example, they give out free stuff like plants for Feel Good February! There is always something fun happening so you never miss out on things! For accommodation, the rooms are very spacious and of amazing quality. Definitely recommend it!

I loved when I came to Edgehill University, I got such a warm welcome. Many years out of education from taking the wrong turn in life, I got all the support I needed. I was able to be honest about my own struggles and lived experience without feeling judged. All the staff are amazing.

It makes me feel like home

I am studying the STEM foundation year at Edge Hill University as a way of getting onto my undergrad when I didn’t have the UCAS points needed. The course is very well thought out as a stepping stone into higher education, with everything needed to pass the course and carry on with your studies laid out plainly so that you know exactly what to do.

Commuting is made easy by a free bus link that runs from the university to the town's central bus stop multiple times an hour, and the accommodation is nice and secure.

Personally, I found out I was 31 weeks pregnant without knowing previously, and the university has been amazing with it all—fully supportive of me attending appointments and working from home when I struggle, constantly checking in to see what they can do, and supporting me every step of the way while making sure I know exactly what I can do to ensure I still pass the year and continue with my undergrad while still taking time off for my baby.

As an international student, studying at Edge Hill University has been an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported by both the university staff and fellow students. The campus is absolutely beautiful, with modern facilities, peaceful green spaces, and a friendly atmosphere that makes it feel like a home away from home. The academic support is also outstanding. Lecturers are approachable, knowledgeable, and always willing to help, making it easy to adjust to the UK education system. The university also offers excellent resources, including a well-equipped library, study spaces, and career support services that help students prepare for their future. One of the best aspects of Edge Hill is its strong sense of community. There are many societies and cultural events that allow international students to meet new people and feel connected. The university also provides great support for international students, including visa guidance, accommodation assistance, and wellbeing services, ensuring a smooth transition to life in the UK.

Student life is amazing here. There’s so much to do on and off campus. The transport into town has brilliant links to other nearby towns. The course I chose is amazing with a great team of lecturers and support. The support teams, whether it’s Inclusion, mental health and wellbeing, or Student Life, have been so helpful. The Student Life team offers many great events over the year (my favorite being the therapy dogs!!).

Good uni

With starting uni, everyone has fears of failure or not fitting in. As soon as you get on campus, several volunteers are there to help you with your move. The accommodation is amazing, with rooms that you can personalize so you feel comfortable, and when you're ready to connect with your flatmates, the kitchen has a clean and safe feel. Safety is a priority for the university; I only ever had one issue that took less than a minute for the security team to respond.

Lectures are never located too far away, so it was easy to locate and attend them. They were engaging and well-structured, maximizing the information learned and applying it to assignments. All content was relevant to future jobs, and personal tutors can help figure out which modules are best for you. While assignments push you, they build resilience and confidence in your ability, which can be applied in the workplace.

To wind down, Edge Hill offers a great selection of sports and activities. There is always something free to attend with friends, and the sporting facilities offer great value for money.

I truly have become my best self attending Edge Hill University. My time here has given me the confidence to create the life I want when I leave, and I recommend it to anyone who wants the same.
