Aston’s campus is located just 10 minutes’ walk from Birmingham city centre – where students can enjoy some of the best shopping, eating out, and entertainment in the UK. Everything is in one location, including gym, accommodation, cafes, supermarket, teaching facilities, and a brand new Students’ Union (completed in 2019). Because everything is in one place, you’ll always bump into people you know, which is one reason the University has a great reputation for its campus community.

A key part of studying at Aston is the placement year, which gives our graduates a head-start in their careers. Approximately 70% of students participate in a placement year – gaining valuable work experience or study in the UK or overseas. Students build confidence, contacts and career skills, earning on average £16,000 a year on their placements. With its central location, Aston students have all the hustle and bustle of Birmingham’s city centre right on their doorstep. The campus is small and friendly, with a family atmosphere, but still offering all the facilities you’d expect including plenty of places to study and socialise, a library, a gym, and a swimming pool.

Student Services offer help and support with studies, accommodation, wellbeing, finances, and more and there are dozens of clubs and societies to join at the Students’ Union.
