Discover the world while you study wildlife and conservation, on our BSc (Hons) Wildlife, Ecology and Conservation Science degree.

From your very first weeks, you’ll be out in the field - not just in Suffolk, but across the UK and beyond. You’ll start with an immersive wildlife surveying retreat in the Highlands of Scotland, then progress to some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth. Our students track big game in South Africa while learning about large mammal conservation, and venture deep into the Amazon Rainforest to study primates and reptiles in their natural habitats.

Alongside these unforgettable trips, you’ll build a strong scientific foundation in zoology, ecology, environmental science and conservation biology, gaining practical skills that employers are actively seeking. You’ll train in cutting-edge techniques such as GIS mapping, bioacoustics and genetics, and can tailor your degree towards wildlife research or science communication (through teaching, media or wildlife film).

You’ll be taught by an internationally active research team and work directly with leading organisations such as Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Colchester Zoo and the RSPB—giving you the chance to make professional connections that can launch your career.

Graduates go on to roles in ecological consultancy, conservation management, research, environmental policy and science communication, with employers ranging from wildlife trusts and zoos to international NGOs.

This isn’t just a degree—it’s your chance to travel, gain real conservation experience, and help protect wildlife across the globe.
