Data is everywhere. The challenge is knowing how to use it. On this degree, you will combine economic theory with data science, learning how to analyse complex information and turn it into meaningful insight.\

You will build a strong foundation in economics while developing skills in data analysis, machine learning and working with large datasets. This blend of disciplines will prepare you to understand not just what is happening in the economy, but why, and what might happen next.\

From your first year, you will gain hands-on experience using Bloomberg terminals in our Financial Laboratory (FinLab), with the opportunity to achieve a Bloomberg Markets Concepts qualification. You will also bring theory to life in our experimental laboratory, testing economic ideas in practice.\
\
By the time you graduate, you will have the skills to move into careers across finance and economics, or continue your studies. Our graduates go on to organisations such as Goldman Sachs, HSBC, PwC and Bloomberg, with over 95% in employment or further study within 15 months (Graduate Outcomes 2022 to 2023, published 2025).\
