Physics is a fundamental science which underpins our understanding of the world around us, from distant galaxies to the smallest particles. The knowledge and problem-solving skills of physicists are vital to new discoveries and advances in science and technology.

T Level

T-levels will be considered provided a grade B is obtained in A Level Maths and grade C in A Level Physics.

From a minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent qualifications. To include 40 UCAS Tariff points from A Level Maths and 32 points from A Level Physics or equivalent qualifications.

Scottish Higher

104 to 112 UCAS Tariff points to include 40 points from Advanced Highers in Maths and Physics. A combination of Highers and Advanced Highers accepted.

Access to HE Diploma

104 to 112 UCAS points to be achieved from 45 Level 3 credits, including 40 points from 15 level 3 credits in Maths and 15 credits in Physics

GCSE/National 4/National 5

Applicants will also need at least three GCSEs at grade 4 or above, which must include English and Maths. Equivalent Level 2 qualifications may also be considered.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

To include a Higher Level Grade 5 in Maths and Physics.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

BTEC qualifications will be considered provided a grade B is obtained in A Level Maths and grade C in A Level Physics. Will also consider applicants who do not have A Level Physics, but have a BTEC qualification (A Level equivalent size or above) in either Applied Science or Engineering.
