Architecture and the Sustainable Environment MSc

How can we create sustainable and resilient buildings, cities and communities where people and nature thrive?

Whether you’re an architect, engineer, geographer, surveyor, historian or urban designer, this course will help you find the solutions.

Uniting architecture, building science, conservation and urban design, you will gain the knowledge, skills and professional networks to create a more sustainable future.

Our world-leading professors have special expertise in the environmental sustainability of historic buildings, as well as building resilience in cities, two of the key modules on this programme.

You will gain practical skills to monitor and model the environmental performance of buildings, working alongside industry partners to design sustainable solutions.

You’ll also understand how building design and environmental technologies have changed over time in the UK and beyond.

At the end of the course, you will be prepared to address climate resilience, contribute to net zero targets, and enhance the health and wellbeing of people and communities through the built environment.
