By year three, you will undertake an individual research project on an emerging topic in the field. By year four, will undertake an industry-supervised group design project, and crucial units on advanced structural analysis and design.

Engineering at Manchester is loved not only for our standard of teaching and research, but for the people. As a student in our department, you will also benefit from our welcoming community, where you can meet likeminded friends in subject-based societies, like Civil Engineering Soc, Women in Science and Engineering, and The Sustainable Engineering Initiative.

This degree will equip you to enter the civil engineering professions and fully satisfies the educational base for becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
