Studying Psychology at Lincoln Bishop University is your chance to explore what makes us who we are, how we think, feel, and connect with the world around us. You’ll dive deep into the science of the mind, discovering how psychological theories shape our understanding of behaviour, emotions, and society. Along the way, you’ll see how these ideas come alive in real communities, workplaces, and everyday life.
Our programme takes you on a journey through the big questions, why do we behave the way we do? How do friendships and groups form? Can something as simple as a smile really change how we feel? You’ll debate social issues, investigate memory, language, and attention, and explore both classic and contemporary theories. With a blend of science, technology, and creative thinking, you’ll build skills in problem-solving, data analysis, and critical reasoning, always with a focus on real-world application.
Support is at the heart of your experience here. Small group sizes mean you’ll get to know your tutors and receive personalised feedback, helping you grow in confidence and ability. You’ll also have the chance to step into real working environments through placements and projects, preparing you for a wide range of careers after graduation. With research-active staff guiding your learning, you’ll gain both scientific expertise and practical insight, ready to make a difference wherever your ambitions lead.
On the Counselling side of your joint honours degree, you’ll explore the humanistic approach, focusing on person-centred therapy and the power of the therapeutic relationship. This programme is all about personal growth, self-awareness, and understanding how to support others. You’ll study models like person-centred therapy, transactional analysis, and gestalt therapy, and develop essential skills such as active listening, empathy, and effective communication.
Through role-plays and reflective exercises, you’ll put theory into practice, building confidence and insight. While this course isn’t designed to train you as a practitioner, it gives you a strong foundation in humanistic counselling and valuable skills that transfer to many career paths or set you up for further study in the field.
At Lincoln Bishop University, you’ll be supported every step of the way as you explore the fascinating world of psychology and counselling, and discover just how much you’re capable of achieving.
