Our Banking and Finance with Foundation Year degree provides an alternative route into undergraduate study, if for example, you don’t have the necessary qualifications or cannot meet the entry requirements to begin the standard three-year degree.
The Foundation Year (Year 0) offers you the chance to expand and strengthen your confidence, skills and knowledge – ensuring that you are well-prepared and qualified to progress into Year 1 of the undergraduate degree. Our Banking and Finance with Foundation Year degree provides an alternative route into undergraduate study, if for example, you don’t have the necessary qualifications or cannot meet the entry requirements to begin the standard three-year degree.<br/><br/>The Foundation Year (Year 0) offers you the chance to expand and strengthen your confidence, skills and knowledge – ensuring that you are well-prepared and qualified to progress into Year 1 of the undergraduate degree. On successful completion, you will join Year 1 of the BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance programme.<br/><br/>A degree in Banking and Finance provides in-depth knowledge of how financial institutions, financial markets and their regulators work, alongside the role they play in our corporate, commercial and personal lives. During this foundation year, you’ll develop essential academic and IT skills, such as writing, communication, presentation and how to use digital resources to support your studies and research assignments. You will get a taste of studying within a multidisciplinary School with foundation students from a range of other subjects, including accounting, economics, management and marketing.<br/><br/>‘Placement Year’ and International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time. Successful completion of Year 0 of the equivalent International programme guarantees entry to Year 1 of the same Bangor University degree programme. Through this route, Year 0 is delivered at Bangor University International College (BUIC) located at the heart of our University Campus and run by our partner, Oxford International Education Group.
